Webbing Aprons

Suitable webbing aprons for your printing machine

Web-fed printing presses print "endless" paper webs. At the beginning the paper webs had to be merged painstakingly with the printing machine, today this work is done by a webbing-up device. Fast, safe and reliable even for the most complicated web leads.

When you were a kid, did you have a toy train too? The webbing-up device works in much the same way: Just like the rails and switches used to lead through your childhood room, the webbing-up device is now running through your printing machine: And just like the locomotive pulls the following carriages to their destinated train station, the so-called webbing-up chain pulls the attached paper web to its destination: to the turner bars or over to the former.

How does a webbing apron work?

Are all of the carriages connected? Is the paper web attached to the webbing-up chain? A webbing-up apron is used here: a long drawn-out plastic triagle, where the tip is pulled by the webbing-up chain and the narrow start of the paper web is attached at the other end. And we're off!

Once the turner bars or the former is reached, the webbing-up apron is detached from the webbing-up chain and taken off the paper web, which is then pulled manually over the former and brought over to the folder.
